Dear Students and Parents,
It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year at Dixon High School. We are very proud of the work we do at Dixon High School, and we look forward to another great year.
As we begin this school year, I want to share our school’s mission statement:
Dixon High School will develop and integrate the structures and practices necessary to ensure all students learn at high levels. Students will graduate from Dixon High School college and career ready, prepared for the global demands of the 21st century.
As our mission clearly states, we are dedicated and committed to one thing: student learning. We believe that for students to leave our school ready for college and/or career, they need to be exposed to a rigorous and relevant curriculum. The Dixon High School mission statement says we believe that all students can learn, and that it is our responsibility to ensure that they do learn. We strive to keep classroom disruptions to a minimum so that all students can excel to the best of their ability. Our extracurricular and co-curricular activities are in place to further develop student learning in contexts beyond the classroom. Our goal is to help students build the skills and abilities to be successful in their postsecondary lives. The more our students participate and put forth effort into school, the more powerful and rewarding their high school experiences will be.
The DHS handbook and the policies are designed to maximize learning opportunities for all students. It contains very important information about Dixon High School, such as our procedures, attendance and discipline policies, specialized student services, important dates, and security procedures. Please read it and use it as a reference guide when you have questions about anything occurring at school.
Parents, I strongly you encourage you to review the handbook with your students to help reinforce what we teach and value at Dixon High School.
On behalf of the faculty, staff, district personnel, and administration, welcome to Dixon High School 2018-2019. I look forward to a positive and productive year at Dixon High School. Go Rams!
Best,
Stephanie Marquez
