Transcript Request | Letter of Recommendation Guideline NEW Counseling Spring 2010 Newsletter DIXON GRADUATES ELIGIBLE FOR SPARLING ENDOWMENT AT UCD Dixon High School graduates attending UC. Davis, for the 2010-2011 academic year, may be eligible for support from the R. E. & Hilda M. Sparling Fund. Over 300 Sparling Awards totaling in excess of $3 million have been made since the program began in 1989. Scholarships and grants are made to financially needy Dixon High School graduates who are attending UC Davis. Current and prospective UC Davis students are eligible for consideration. In addition, prospective students must have submitted the 2010-2011 University of California application for admission during the month of November and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) between January 1 and March 2, 2010. Continuing UC Davis students must file a continuing undergraduate scholarship application and a new FAFSA every year to be considered for a Sparling Award. The continuing scholarship application and instructions are on the UC Davis Scholarship Office Web site. Dixon High School graduates with a grade point average of 3.25 or greater who demonstrate financial need will receive Sparling Scholarships that usually meet their full financial need. Eligible students with GPAs below 3.25 receive Sparling Grants, the amount of which varies from year to year depending upon the number of eligible students and the available funds. Announcements of Sparling Awards will be made by June 2010 and will be paid over the course of the 2010-2011 academic year.
